Baze Animal Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionateVeterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgeries by preparing equipment and maintaining sterile fields using aseptic techniques.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for procedures such as blood draws, injections, catheterizations, and physical examinations.
- Administer medications accurately following veterinary instructions, including oral, injectable, and topical treatments.
- Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding when needed and cleaning kennels to ensure optimal animal welfare.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, client communication, and maintaining detailed medical records.
- Conduct laboratory tests and prepare samples for diagnostics to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Qualifications
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background with a strong understanding of pet care principles.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar setting is highly preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle animals confidently across various species with skills in dog handling and animal restraint.
- Familiarity with medication administration methods and basic animal physiology concepts required.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members at the front desk or during procedures.
- Willingness to learn new skills
Compensation: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
